Start up a calibration lab

James O.

Product(s) used: 5522A

When I was asked if I wanted to start up a calibration lab, the very first thing that popped into my mind was how much fun it was going to be to browse through the Fluke website to find what I consider "the best" Calibration Measurement Reference Standards on the market today. I hope this verbiage "Measurement Reference Standards" takes off, as it helps distinguish between the other "chemical" reference standards.

As someone who is passionate about doing things right the first time and about accuracy, Fluke was the only choice for me. As you can see from the photo, I chose a Fluke 5522A Multi-Product Calibrator, we also had the 50-Turn Current Coil and Met-Cal Software. I also purchased a Fluke 754 with a range of Pressure Modules to perform a variety of field calibrations, and several dry-well calibrators. When I started my second calibration lab, they already had about 100 Fluke 1524s, so, in order to calibrate them in-house, the only choice was a Fluke 1594A Super Thermometer with a Fluke 5628 SPRT. One last thing that makes it all worth while, is the staff (sales as well as technical) at Fluke. They seem to be as passionate about Metrology as I am and are always eager to help, even after the sale. The labs I am involved with will always have Fluke products - problem solved.
